Default unknown 27th commonwealth infantry brigade patch

hi all
I found this the other day and not sure what it is. I think its a blazer pocket badge however its bugger than a pocket. anyway I've never seen one before.
any thoughts welcome

still looking for info on this patch or at least some thoughts.
unusual shape so to big for a blazer patch.
anyone seen one before?

I suspect this may have been made in Korea or Japan - it's as if the design was described to the badge maker in English/Korean and misinterpreted. The numeral 9 (like a reversed letter P ) is similar to the left half of the Korean character ahop (nine). Mike
