Frankly, I am more worried about the casual abuse of household furniture. That top surface will have to carefully taken back to the bare wood with some fine grade fire wool and a liberal coating of teak oil will have to be applied and that is just for starters.

God know what his Mrs will say if she finds out what he has been up to.

Taking in to consideration the fact that some members do not like straying too far from badges and bearing in mind that they are entitled to their own opinions, no-one should condemn them for how they feel ?

Point made I hope.

Having said that ( electronically ), I have to admit that this has been one of the most amusing threads I have read since I joined and re-joined and re-joined the forum !

I would argue ( I'm always arguing ) that at some stage there might have been an occasion, where one of the Mods might have had to step in and unruffle a few feathers but they left it alone, so I want to thank all those who participated, for giving me more giggles than I've had for a long while.

Well done men.

Dave.

I'm sure Roy stated in a previous post that he certainly was not a "gunslinger"

That's true enough Frank,

I have to admit (embarrassingly) I haven't even gotten around to shooting this one and had it almost a year!

O well - will have to make a range trip sooner or later.

Common Andy - haven't you got anything better to do..?

Or are you just up late and hitting the Scotch too hard...

This is worse than watching re-runs of Benny Hill...

Don't mean to hi-jack this wonderful thread but have any of our UK members got any experience of having a deac sent to them from within the EU?. A good friend of mine has offered me a lovely deac Enfield revolver but I suspect if it doesn't have UK proof marks, then I'm scuppered

I was reading up on this recently and the law has changed again in and around 2005. It needs to have a proofing mark from either London or Birmingham and a certificate to go with it. Without those it's classed as an unlicenced firearm.

Thanks mate, I had a hunch something like that might prevent the deal from going ahead; still need to check with my friend regarding proof marks but it doesn't look good

I dunno, you'd think there'd be some EU standard for deacs, so they could be sent between Countries with any problems.

Andy.

Someone will probably moan and gripe that this is not a "Badge", but who cares!

What an amazing looking dog!
