given this by a collector friend . any ideas. thanks in anticipation

I've seen that badge before without the blue decal. I'll go try to get it up again.

EDIT: It's very similar to the Australian Army, Army Combat Badge, when you look at the crossed swords and laurel wreath background. I'm at a loss about the blue decal in the middle but I'll keep looking.

Further EDIT: Nope, I'm beaten. I must be wrong about it being Australian.

Dutch MLV breast badge, MLV is Militaire Lichamelijke Vaardigheid, Military Physical proficiency.
Blue enamel for Geoefend Militair Zwemmer, trained military swimmer. 2 for passing the test two times.

Well done Thomas. As a result of you identifying it I've found a picture of it being worn on a Bundeswehr uniform.

Am I getting this right- "Ith' a mythtery" - a Toyah badge? No help with the badge, but I loved that song...
