1st Canadian Para - Opinions?
Greetings Gents,
A friend of mine has a few badges/patches to the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion but is unsure as to originality, period etc. He has asked if I can seek some advice and try to clear up some of these questions. First up is an OR's cap badge (three images attached). Any an all opinions greatly appreciated. Genuine or not? Period? Condition? Value? Cheers, Roy.

Roy,
There have been many posts about these badges, but I assume none that you can find or maybe they have all got lost..? There is a least one if you use the advanced search and the words "canadian parachute" and a fantasy one is there. David |

Hi David,
Thanks for that. I did take a look but didn't get very far, however a second look and I found a badge which appears identical to this one and it does appear that the badge I have shown is a well known fake If at least one knowledgable collector can confirm this I would be most grateful? Cheers, Roy.

1 CANPARA
As my italian friend says, "it's a fugazi!". Sorry to tell you but its a copy, its actually a copy of a two tone officers capbadge made to look like an OR badge. Usually these are seen with a slider.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for that, that's a done deal then. My friend had his suspicions, so I don't think it will be a big shock to him. At least he will know one way or the other. Cheers, Roy.
