Default Hackles colours....help.

Can someone enlighten me and tell me who is who, in this print showing the hackles of the RRS.
I know the red one is still the Black Watch.
Cheers

Now does anyone have a badge for this Royal Regiment of Scotland, Oh the powers to be & their decisions. I supposed it has acquired all the battle honors of all these other Regiments? I have never seen the badge & only found out about the Regiment about 3 months from one of the Brits here on the forum. Ray

I have spoken to an officer from the Royal Regiment of Scotland. He tells me that the SAME capbadge is being worn by officers and non-commissioned ranks. No need to spend a fortune on an "officers'" badge.

Ray
This site dealing in modern British forces badges and insignia has been mentioned a few times on the forum. The way the site is structured would also have answered Voltigeur's questions on hackles.

I have no affliation to 'military-badges', but hope the info helps. It's worth checking out the site for info and the owner (Steve) is extremely helpful. The site has photos of modern OR's, Officer's, Service Dress etc. Mark

The black hackle was chosen for the 1st battalion in part to mark the lineage of the 26th and 90th Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) who went into 'suspended animation' in 1968 and were not formally disbanded until sometime in the late 80s early 90s. Up to that time they maintained a regimental office, had a TA company (of 52nd Lowland Regt) as well as ACF units (wearing the actual cap badge) too.
