Default Genealogist

Hi all.
Run into a few snags in the reasearch of my family history, and need professional assistence, I think.
Could anyone here recommened a Genealogist?
They're easy enough to find online, but I'd rather go with someone recommended to me.

Hello Colin,

I would recommend that you don't go with a professional!

We have access to everything they have nowadays, with so much being posted & available online. What isn't covered online would be best served by joining one of the rootsweb county/town email lists and picking the brains of the people on there.

The majority of the problems I have found with my brick walls have been with the way the original record has been transcribed - mis-spelt or information put in incorrect boxes etc, so it's always worthwhile spending sometime searching with wildcards etc.

Findmypast.co.uk are currently giving away free credits - I can forward you (or anyone else that wants them) the email if you would like.

Happy to discuss further via email/pm if you like.

cheers,

Andy C
