fssf canvas title
Anyone know if a legitimate, printed FSSF canvas arrowhead patch was actually produced?

sad then that it fetched $215 US when a legit. (as far as I could tell) embroidered FSSF shoulder from a different vendor sold for $66 the same day. Must have been the "my grandfather's estate" part .

Hi David, I had missed that listing. It is fantasy piece. In addition it was made up at some point long after WW2. Note the "white" that shows along the edge, and the charcoal coloured textured backing. All signs of "bad" canvas.
Also interesting is that the bidder is a collector of formation patches, whom I thought had a good handle on what is good. Edit I was thinking some more about this patch. The FSSF was not in the British line of supply. It was equiped and supplied by the US Army, and under their authority. They would not draw on the Brits, and canvas was only used by the Commonwealth in WW2. (With the exception of the Kiska patch, but it is not Brit type canvas). How about this one, still attached to a US uniform material?

Still attached or perhaps newly attached to try to create a sense of originality? Without some hard evidence that canvas versions of the FSSF patch were made during the war I would approach this item with skepticism.
