Waist belt clasps Indian?
I had a punt on these in the hope one may be Indian Army but they are a bit of a puzzle. Construction wise they are from the same stable, but one has an Imperial looking crown with a (c) below much in the style of one you find on Indian badges such as Central India Horse. The other clasp has odd white metal Cs with a very different crown. Any help much appreciated. Kevin

Can anyone put a possible nationality to the second crown in white metal, It seems to resemble the crown used on the Victorian 7TH Queens own Hussars?

Just found that the Queens own 7th Hussars were named as such for Queen consort Caroline In the 18th century . Could both of these buckles be in fact 7th Hussars?

From my good friend Capt. Ashok Nath:
Regarding the two WBP's, the one with a C and flat topped crown does have an Indian touch, the other is not Indian. The type of C was in use with certain Great War raised Indian cavalry regiments, but without the crown and with a number inserted with the C. I cannot really say, what exactly this plate could have belonged to, never seen it before. Rgds, button_guru |

For what its worth, top crown looks Imperial Indian/Victorian, bottom crown doesn't look British/Commonwealth, more European, don't know which country.

that is the puzzle as the buckles are identical,ie must I would think have been made for the same nation, I have been trying to find the strange white metal reversed C on another badge with no luck as yet.
