Death Plaque
Could anybody tell me the official name of the World War One death plaque aka Death Penny?
I've seen references in official documents to BRM but cannot find the expansion of these initials. Thanks Mike |

I dont know if it is the official title but the Medals Year Book(s) calls them Memorial Plaques.

Memorial Plaque is the correct term.
Although there's been confusion from earliest days as to what to call it. Here's an advert I have from 1921 where it's referred to as a 'Memorial Medallion': |

Out of interest, those plaque frame prices adjusted for inflation:
£3 15s = £131 £10 10s = £369 In the Exonumia sense these plaques are 'Table Medals' or 'Table Medallions' so in that way their description is sort of correct too. |

Fascinating! Many thanks. I've now found confirmation of the name "Memorial Plaque" in the records of a Digger KIA at Gallipoli.
