They dont look British to me? Granted they are in the 1850s Light Dragoon style...... I just find the "star" a bit odd - European? Guelphic Crown- Prussian?

Hi Folks,
It would appear from the photo, that the top of the crown which would normally (on UK insignia) have a cross, would appear to have a crescent instead. Which if true, would pressumably indicate a muslim country which has a Monarchy. Both the Jordanian and Saudi Arabian armies have similiar insignia, but they have crossed swords. Another option could be an 'old' Egyptian. But to be honest i am well out of my depth on this subject. Eddie Parks is an expert on 'Arabic' type insignia, maybe he will know and recognise them.
