Interesting that the Hunts Cyclists were still buying their own badges from local firms in 1915.

I thought that by then the badges would be WD supplied, interesting that they never went overseas as a Batt, just provided drafts. Nice pics tho'

I note that the dates given on the website are April and July. The ACD DID take over the provision of Hunts (and other TF) badges but we're not sure of the exact date - there appears to be a ledger missing, but the best guess is sometime in the autumn. Hunts Cyc Bn is listed in the PPVCN - with all the others - but it's only dated '1915'. In April 1916, the WO put in an order for 5,000 Hunts badges at 18/6 per gross.
I'll leave it for someone else to work out the maths but this looks like a better deal - more discount for greater bulk.

Glad to see that the Hunts Terr Ass papers had useful info, the W Lancs one didn't have that sort of detail,
