Default RFC Officers Cap "yes or no"

Hi all, I have just acquired this RFC Cap, I take it it's an officers and that other ranks did not wear peak caps only Forage.
Am I right or am I a Dingbat?
Cheers Kev.

By the chinstrap ,shape ,and material, it looks to be an officers cap,
Other Ranks did wear a similar cap during the first world war but of lesser quality and different strap, Regards Kevin.

Hi,

Your cap has a WW2 pattern chinstrap on it.

Regards.
Zob.

In my opinion your cap is the correct pattern for the 1st World War and the chin strap is the correct thin type, not the later thicker type used for 2nd War period caps.
The give away should be that the underside of the visor which should be a bright green paper like material as opposed to khaki coloured cloth.
The crown is also of the right pattern.
Look at this one for comparison which is a 1st WW pattern cap but with a post 1920 badge.
