Army Lists 1901-08 look up please.
If anyone is in the fortunate positiion of having any Army Lists for the period 1901-1908, I wonder if they would do me great favour and see if there is an officer called Nairn ( possibly Captain ) listed in the Kings Liverpools.
Thanks in advance. P.B.

If no-one has them, try the London Gazette on-line.

Thanks to KLR it has now been established that George Alexander Stokes Nairn was commissioned into the 9th Bn Kings Liverpool Regiment in 1913.
His blue cloth helmet is currently on the market, it having all white metal/silver fittings including the helmet plate. The helmet plate is unusual in that the scroll is named "The Kings Regiment" and not "The Liverpool Regiment". I have a similar plate to the one on the helmet ( photo attached ) which has always been a mystery ( to me at least ) ,so it is now known what headdress officers of the 9th Kings wore in full dress before WW1,it does however raise the question of whether a similar helmet was worn by officers of the 7th Bn. in this period. The late Tim Ashley had two similar helmets in his extensive Kings Liverpol collection ( picture attached ) Nice to fill gaps in ones knowledge, with thanks again to KLR. P.B.
