Default I am thankful for this forum.

We are approaching Thanksgiving here in the United States, and thus my mind wanders to all those things in my life that I am thankful for.

Thank you Mike for providing this forum free of charge.

Thank you the admins (Alan & Bill) and all of you who have helped answer my queries this past year.

John

Ditto John, the forum not only for the infinite information well received, but also the happy hours it has given me chatting to the great bunch of chaps on my lap top as the kids force me to watch Sponge Bob..... Keeping me in touch also with the homeland that I miss so much.

Thanks to all, and Happy Thanksgiving John.

Regards
Simon.

It is actually amazing some of the things you take for granted and yet spend so much time doing.

regards,

Iain

Amongst other things, the forum has enabled me to channel a lifelong interest whilst giving me the facility to rationalise, confirm and build upon with a high degree of accuracy, some of the knowledge I have picked up over the years in many military related areas.

I have also had the pleasure of meeting some of the most helpful, considerate and selfless gentlemen it has ever been my pleasure to encounter. Not all fit in to this category, nor would I expect or wish them to, dare I say that would be somewhat mundane!!

I am prone to the odd gaff with regard to some of my badge related comments. I sometimes also give in to the odd fit of pique and I will admit to getting on my high horse on occasion and have found my foot in my mouth more than once.

I sometimes ramble on a bit as well.

We are all human and regardless of our differences, whether they be related to our areas of interest or our standing in general, we all share a passion for our subject. The forum for me is a great leveller and I take great pleasure in learning from those that share their knowledge and experience so freely and from being able to use this accumulated learning in order to partake in the business of the hobby, both within the bounds of the forum and in the wider collecting community. That's why I'm thankful for the forum.

Besides that, it keeps me off of street corners and saves me from TV land.

My thanks to Mike and the Mods and also to all who contribute to making the forum what it is.

Regards to all.

Ry

Phil,
Many of us have computers that can’t spell but it does not stop us from taking part in posts or trying to help where and when we can. The only ones who complain about spelling are the grumpy members who have perhaps little better to do.
We are all thankful for the forum as a first class source of information from a great group of people with a common interest.
Eddie

Simon,
Spelling is not as important as getting the intended message across.
Things are fine here, apart from the weather. Hope you are keeping well in those foreign fields

John, Simon, Ry, et. al.,

This forum is a most remarkable place, for which I am very grateful.

A story which appeared today in the Wall Street Journal.
An English Thanksgiving, 1942

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Don

Hi Don,

thanks for the link, it was actually very touching.
Partly tongue in cheek, the USA often comes across as a Crown Dominion that broke away. They still enjoy the connection, but dont get too close!
One wonders what would have happened had the fledgling Americas been better managed.

But happy thanksgiving to you and yours.

Iain

A very interesting story, thanks for sharing it.

My best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving to you and all the members across the pond.
