Default FRENCH BADGE - COU COU LE VOILA

Hi all, wanted to see if there were some French experts here. came across this. Not my thing but it made me curious when I did a translate on it " THIS IS THE NECK NECK"....... or if CouCou as one word " THIS IS THE CUCKOO"

Any idea what it was for?

Regards
Simon.

Simon, "coucou" in french and in this instance is just a slang to say "surprise!" and not about the neck (cou) or the bird cuckoo. My translation could be, coucou, le voila ="surprise, he's here".
The cannon shown is the WW1 famous 75mm so.......im my mind it would be something relating to the first 75 reaching the French army.
Maybe 2LBH who's english is a lot better than mine will be able to have a better translation.

Hi Jo, how are you; long time.

I should have remembered to send it straight to you in the first place. I know the French 75 was an important development with it being the first with gas reciprocation; unique that they did this then.

Interesting badge

Thanks again

Cheers
Simon.

Hello
it's a patriotic insignia
we call it in France "insigne de journées" (day's insignia)
sold in WW1 for war effort
here is an interesting link:

Yep, on the translation I'd probably go for "Hello! He/It's here!"
Nice badge btw!
