Forum membership proportions, curiosity killed the cat.
I am sitting at home bored, watching yet another top gear repeat, and i suddenly found myself wondering what the proportions of male to female forum members are? this then would give an indication of the numbers in general on and off the forum. I should think badge collectors are predominantly male?
Cheers Phil

Out of 4259 members I would be surprised if more than 1% were female.
P.B.

Phil, Saturday evening, after six, I'm sure there are some who could be persuaded to don a frock to even up the numbers but, come 6.05 they'd have to revert to normal....
Another survey could be whose wife/ladyfriend/partner influences their forum viewing.... |

For me its a pity that the thread we had some time ago ( which sought to identify the age groups Forum members fell into ) was flawed ( one of the age ranges was missed out ).
I think that would be much more informative and might give an indication of how the future of the hobby might go. P.B.

PB, thats a very good idea, but I have no idea how to start a poll! I know that there is a six year old collector with access and 2 fifteen year old members on the forum.

The future of this hobby is rather bleak. They will find a cure in the near future. Eddie |

When I met my partner (female!), who does not collect anything, fifteen years ago, visiting her place for the first time and scouring the bookshelves (as you do)... seeing a copy of Gaylor's 'Collecting Military Badges' made me think... 'keeper!' For far much more than this, of course - but a good start...
