ww2 unissued brevets are they right
Hi all and thanks for dropping in.
I have a chance at purchasing these RCAF Brevets they are supposed to be ww2 Unissued, they look right to me but I could do with some other comments. The group of three look similar to mess dress. I know the RAF didn't use mess dress during the war so I take it the RCAF didn't either plus their to big, would they be for Tropical Uniform. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Kev. |

I am no authority on RCAF wings.
I am aware of reproduced wings, but they are the flat, unpadded type. Phil |

The first photo, the straight edge N, B and WAG wings are good example of british made Canadian Wings (and ones that I haven't even completed a set of yet!) but don't put your faith into the AG and the three wire wings......no good I'm afraid. If you get extras of those brit made wings, keep me in mind!
Cheers

I agree with Mike. The first three are canadian pattern but British made, the AG in the same set I think recent Indian/Pakistan made. The others are recent made wartime pattern, although Im not aware of them being worn in gold wire in the RCAF. The RAF did wear full sized wings in gold wire from 1947 (on a new style tunic) but this was unpopular and lasted only two years.
