thoughts on these 1st Canadian wings
Hello forum friends, I'm quite new to 1st can , whats the thoughts on these wings? all help would be appreciated? are they WW2 issue? and authentic?
I'd like to have Ken Joyces book, but have been unlucky trying to get a copy in the UK so far, or a cheaper used copy that i can offset the shipping, as I know this book would really help me. |

Hello Neil, The wing looks good. It is very difficult to determine the differences between the wartime and post-war varieties. And, the wartime pattern were worn well into the 50's and probably the 60's.
Have you checked with Service Publications on the shipping costs?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I looked into the book from the UK distributor, but they don't have it listed or available . just have to live n hope of finding it second hand some time. Anyway thanks for the input on the wings, sounds like they have a chance.

Well, they are original wings for sure but they are also not obviously wartime. The large maple leaf and shape of the top feathers leads me to believe that they are early post war / early 50's vintage. That being said, I am far from being an expert on these wings so hopefully someone with more experience will add comments.
