Default Belgian Badge

Hello,

I bought this in a flea-market in Brussels yesterday but I must admitt I haven't a clue what regiment it comes from - I'm sure it's Belgian and from the early-mid '50s.

Any ideas?
Thanks
BP

Many thanks to both of you!

Are there any indications to more precise date? Might it be pre-1950?

Thanks

That is an incredible website!!! They even have a pic of the Luxembourg badge I'm trying to get (oh how irritating!), but seriously cudos to the person who made it, there are belgian badges there I've never even seen!

The badge that they have corresponding to mine does appear rather better made. Mine is much cruder with the lion sticking out much more than theirs and less detail on the leaves. Mine also looks a lot thicker. I'm starting to think it could be quite early post war - late 40s?

I think you might be right in assuming that most badges were made post-45 if not later (1949 and on) because of the 40-44 hiatus in badges producing. Also Taking in account the fact that there was much more pressing needs than making badges in the post-war Belgium.
