British Army Officers 1939-1945 - Database

Here is an interesting project that somebody has started.

They are compiling a database of all the British Army Officers in WW2:

Wouldn't that be what is commonly called The Army List?

This database seems to include more details than the Army List, including photo's and place of birth, date of death etc

Some project, a never ending story! Some are very interesting reading but not particularly those who are SO3 (SSAFA and NAAFI) or SO3 (Hygiene, Drains and Mobile Baths) and such. I suppose that we could not have done it without them. What will be the next big project, a database of all soldiers in WW2?

It certainly is a big project, and one that would not have been possible in the days before the internet.

I expect that people will send in details of the officers that they know, but I doubt that the database will ever be complete or 100% accurate.

Still a valuable resource.

Amazing ! I found for the first time serious informations about a british officer who came in Dunkirk in 1940... thanks again.
