Default LOYAL REGT A/A £104 - YOWZER!

I know that these a/a Q/C Loyal Regt badges are scarce but even so £104 for an a/a badge is quite a price.

Smile Loyals

An old collector asked me for a bi-metal Loyal Regt cap badge a while before Christmas and I eventually got him one, an original with hairpin slider, but it was not easy to find. I am not surprised that this badge made that money on ebay, prices seem to be rising all round for good badges.

Does make you think that perhaps some of your recent purchases perhaps were bargains after all.

Alan, are you sure that's an A/A badge? The photo makes it look BM (which is fine by me, as I have a QC BM Loyals badge which I bought here in Oz for the equivalent of 20 pounds only three or four years ago).

Hi Guys,

Very late with this one but I really would like to have seen a rear image of this badge before I parted with so much money.

I can't see the full image at the moment but from what I can see of the slider it does look to be modern. I may be wrong and can't make a full assessment but my gut feeling is that it is a 'bad un'.

Regards

Chris

The amount of GM under the crown is a bit odd, but I think the badge is probably OK.

Just for entertainment value, looked up the word 'Yowzer' at dictionary.com

It says: an exclamation of delight or approval; also called yowzah
Etymology: 1932

I guess this means you are in favour of high prices, Alan?

I take it that Wilfred is not a forum member?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=400175852193 If he was then he may not have paid £30 for this SWB a/a!

Might be Alan,

Depends if he believes what he reads.

I have one of these too safely stored away with all the others like this.

By the way - if anyone has a proper one that they are thinking of selling then please contact me.

Regards

Chris

Default a/a loyals

just as a matter of interest what would you expect to pay out for a q.c loyals a/a badge,as members seem to agree it is a scarce badge and these e- bay prices seemed to cause a lot of dropped jaws.iain
