RAF HELP NEEDED
Can any Forum members inform me when the RAF first used printed insignia? I have included a picture of an O/R's shoulder eagle.
I would also like to know when the type of embroidered insignia used in the construction of the Wireless Operator trade badge shown below. It is similar in material to the WW2 German Bevo weave. Any help or advice will be warmly welcomed. Kind regards, Malcolm. |

Possibly from WW2 onwards, there are a number of variations of both badges.

The Bevo weave is found first on insignia produced in liberated Belgium, later examples were ordered in Holland and Germany. Also known as Brabant weave. Printed badges were introduced around mid-war.
