SUSSEX ACF-CCF-ETC
Can anyone tell me if the Sussex ACF etc ever wore the HOME COUNTIES Brigade badge at any time?
I have a SMALL collection of Sussex ACF etc badges, shoulder titles etc and I was wondering if I should add this badge to it. Jerry

Never say never but Cadets did not wear bde badges but the TA regt badges. I have seen cadet photos with Wessex badges but believe that these were Wessex Regt TA at the time.

Hi Jerry,
The TA continued to wear the Royal Sussex badge and it is suggested they were the only battalions to wear the badge in AA as it arrived after regular Bns were brigaded. Other than this, I'm not sure on ACF, but CCF continued with their own designs which still reflect the Royal Sussex badge. In the late 80s up to the 2000s, BHASVIC CCF officers were still wearing Brighton Grammar School badges in either bronze or WM (based on availability) as well as the Royal Sussex OR's cap badge in BM which was also worn by some cadets instead of the cloth badge issued. I hope this helps. KR, Pete |

Hello Alan & Pete, thanks for your replies. I gather from them that Sussex ACF/CCF did not wear the Brigade badge but kept to their own or Ry Sussex Regt.
