Identification appreciated
A couple of weeks ago one of these badges was sold on Ebay and described as British but I don 't think so. Is it? Perhaps Australian, Canadian, Sth African or NZ?
The term 'Army Reserve' was used pre-WW2 for Australian retired officers, but is now used to describe our part time militia forces. I always thought that the pre-war officers wore a large cursive letter R on their caps and a smaller block letter R on the collar with a block letter epaulette RESERVE title. One of the smaller R badges is currently on Ebay. Any info or documentation appreciated. |

Given that 'vigilate' means to guard or watch over, have you given thought to the possibility that this badge might be something to do with the National Reserve Bank of New York ?

Thanks for the replies. With a king's crown, I doubt if the badge could be from New York. Mike, is it possible to access the Military Historical Society online?
Can you tell me what they said it was? |

Here is the page. Unfortunately it poses the same question 32 years ago! it may have been answered in a subsequent edition of the Bulletin, but I cannot find it.

Something to do with the British Virgin Islands perhaps?
