The badge looks like Highland Light Infantry, I think the facing colour and the tartan shades would fit HLI too.

Leigh is correct, HLI wore trews and the badge fits.

As mentioned, HLI without a doubt, sporting their recently recovered buff facings on collars and cuffs. The shoulder straps would still have white embroidered shoulder titles at this time, and they are still scarlet as well. All youthful Privates. A very interesting photo!

2nd Bn HLI.
There are at least two postcard photos on ebay of HLI in Jersey around that time, one of the Drum Major, the other labelled as 2nd Bn HLI leaving Jersey in September 1904. https://www.theislandwiki.org/index....Light_Infantry A little item on the Bn in Jersey Last edited by leigh kitchen; 06-03-21 at 10:20 AM.
