Default Winged Shark Torpedo Badge

Hi all. A bit of a mystery badge here that came with some RAF badges. Construction is very solid and quite heavy. Maybe silver? Possibly Fleet Air Arm related? Any suggestions would be welcome. Many thanks.

Pin construction looks more American than English.

And I was going to suggest that the style of the art looked French, or at least European, rather than British: not abstract, but not strictly representational as most British inspired badges seem to be.

Possibly a flying fish represented, there have been vessels named HMS Flying Fish snd USS Flying Fish.

Edit : A quick Google shows that there was or is a submarine, USS Flying Fish.

All good suggestions, many thanks. I can see the possibility of a US connection. The hunt continues.
