King's Regiment Chindit slouch hat.
Another dodgy slouch hat from the infinite expanse of grandfather's attic. Apart from anything else, how can he possibly attribute it to the 1st battalion when both the 1st and 13th battalions were out in Burma?

I wonder how much his "rare ww2 LRDG soldiers beret with rare badge" will sell for, it seems to have attracted another bid since this idiots wares were last brought up on here.
It is very sad to see people spending hard earned cash on this rubbish. |

He also has a "Named WW1 the Somme France dated linen back trench front line British map" which, whilst authentic, may have been wrongly attributed. Unless of course, the original owner's name was Albert Trones-Wood, which is unlikely but not impossible.

The nonsense stories aside, I can see nothing wrong with this hat. The Kings flash is good from what I can see and the rest of the had looks OK.
That is the problem with this seller. Many items are good in their own right, but why the idiotic attributions and stories? CB |

The King's badge has the appearance of having been sewn around its entire edge with a sewing machine which is not the usual method of attaching cloth badges to slouch hats. It has probably been removed from another item. He also claims that the hat is Circa 1943. If the hat was wartime it should have the makers name and year of manufacture embossed in the sweat band. The fact that he doesn't show the date, if any actually exists on the sweat band, is strange. It would have been more convincing if he had put the dated sweat band from his other slouch hat into the King's one.

Certainly a great deal of nonsense with this seller, why sell to most obvious completely spurious fakes as original, it does absolutely nothing whatsoever for his reputation, notwithstanding however many original items he offers for sale, with or without, a pointless description.

The Reconnaissance bagded beret is well battered, yet the badge looks brand new ?????

What about all the other badges he has up, Commando-LRDG-SAS...…...Genuine or fake?

It could well be. Problem is that originals were also "Pakistani" made.
I would expect a finer melton cloth backing to that rough looking wool, but this was not always the case for these flashes. CB |

An original LRDG cap badge for thirty odd quid, where it was at the last time I looked, would certainly be unusual, but, it is not original.
