Unknown patch.
May be the wrong board to post but not sure. I was going through all my grandfather's WW2 items and came across two patches which we are not sure about. Does anyone have any ideas? We also know he was in the church boys brigade at some point so not sure if they have been put in the wrong box. Any ideas welcomed and gratefully received.

Hello DLR88, welcome to the Forum. Your account is active and open for posts.
The patch is the 8th Army patch.

One of the formation sign aficianadoes should be able to state when and where that variation was produced I should think.

"BO26" in "WWII British Formation patches A collectors Guide" by Bruno Boulanger ", simply titled as "1941 pattern".
"Badges on Battledress" by Jon Mills (buy it, people) lists this variation as "2521" one of a number of Sicilian locally manufactured 8th Army signs, 1943. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 29-07-19 at 07:04 PM. |

Thanks all. Thought it may have been 8th after some googling but wasn't 100% sure. Thanks for the help, appreciate it.
