International Patrol, Vienna
Living as I do in Vienna this is one I've been looking for for many years. I've got a great interest in the Occupation forces here and a number of veterans were hosted at the Embassy when the 50th anniversary of the hand back came around in 2005 - they even painted the demarkation lines on the streets. It was very well done.
These were worn by the 4 men in a jeep - the quadrapartite patrol (UK, US France and USSR MPs) that had authority to roam across all districts. Numerous photos show them in use, secured by two leather straps, sadly missing here. They are devilishly hard to find, and I've had to wait 20 years for this one. This particular one came from a French officer, but they were all the same. Scarcity I suppose due to them being not personal issue but handed across to the next crew who went out. They're very nicely made as you can see... Best J |

Very nice, one I never managed to find in the days when I collected military police insignia. Well done. Graham

Beautiful badge - congrats on getting it after waiting so long. And, you know who may have worn it, which is a bonus in my book!
