Default Royal Dublin Fusiliers & 4th RIDG

would appreciate opinions on these two;
RIDG -3 crowns in shamrock dont look correct but nice slider!
RDF-shouldnt it be a bi-metal badge?

I would return those if you have bought them.

Okay, well based solely upon the photographs you show, I would certainly not be happy with them.

Unfortunately these two particular regiments have been done to death of many years, ironically, there were some quite poor looking cap badges made for and worn by both, in particular, the Dublin's, but, never mind, lots of very handsome and well made originals to still be bought these days.

I would have been fooled by them too. What should we look for to know it's bad?

Thanks,

Terry

The sliders on both are the classic fake style. There was no all brass economy RDF badge to my knowledge. The 4th DG should have braze holes behind the scroll. Additionally, the color/tone of the metal on both badges is typical of fakes, not to mention the incorrect style of lettering on both, and the stretched out, no detail tiger and elephant, which looks more like a pig with a trunk

CB

PS, some examples of good ones. Most RDF badges will have braze holes behind the scroll, but some do not. My slider example just has small holes behind the grenade.

many thanks for comments-it really helps when the obvious defects are pointed out to the less enlightened-another song line was 'wise men say only fools rush in' but....
