Default Help To Identify Officer Wire Embroidered Mess Dress Collars Badges Please

I am thinking these are a pair of Royal Regiment of Wales Officer Mess Dress wire embroidered collar badges, but I’m not sure.

Both look old but any thoughts on age, regiment and what dress would be most welcome please.

Size: 38mm x 35mm and one is fitted with a brass fitting plate.

Many thanks for any assistance.

Regards,
Andrew

What colour is the backing ? They certainly look to have some age to them. Good quality by the look of them.

They are well made and almost certainly silver wire thread from the toning. The colour of the backing is an off pink as the picture. However, the under layer is an oatmeal colour.
