KC Derbyshires are fantasy items they do not exist.

A friend showed me a "KC Derbyshire" a few years ago and what really annoyed me was that some idiot had taken an original QVC Sherwood Forester's carefully removed its scroll and did the same to an Edwardian example and then carefully fixed the Derbyshire scroll to the latter, completely ruining two perfectly original badges, although, neither are scarce.

Bi-metal Robin Hoods
The Bi-metal Robin Hoods was worn by senior NCO's, a lovely badge.

Luke,
I owned briefly an officers silver gilt and enamel cap badge that had been broached with a KC I don’t doubt your statement but it was snapped up by a Notts and Derby collector about 25 years ago. Mark |

Quote:
Officers privately purchasing items does leave a small window of a matter of a few months following the death of Queen Victoria for the existing pattern to be commissioned with a new Tudor crown in advance of the SP. Categorically however there are no OR badges of this design. |

One of the first capbadge collections I framed. The badge in the cerntre is The Robin Hood Rifles officers beret badge. Made for Nottinghamshire ACF

Hi Neil - the only Robin Hoods badge I am unsure of in your selection is the slidered version - looks chromed and some were. Additional pics might help please, the others including your NCOs are good by me.
Some very nice Notts and Derby badges and especially like your silver, gilt & enamel collar and cap badges, beautifully made, thanks for sharing, cheers Dean

The QC OSD Bronze cap badge is a bit of an oddball. It's quite a short lived and scarce badge (of which I have owned several over the years. The one common trait that they have all exhibited (as does your example), is (if you look carefully), the original King's crown has been neatly removed and a Queen's crown neatly attached in it's place.
