Rules Relating to Dress
Between 1954 and 1956 the War Office issued a series of seven pamphlets under the above title.
I have details of all except Pamphlet 6. Can anyone let me know what its title was please? Jon |

Rules relating to Dress
Jon,
Sorry, cannot help as I've never found details of Pamphlet No7 either. I have some spare copies of various dress regulations that I'll put on a new thread. Stephen.

Hoping we are discussing the same thing? - Titles are various as opposed to 'Rules Relating to Dress' and date is later
Not sure if it helps as the dates are different (later issue) but it looks like by 1966 there were 16 pamphlets. It does not look like they kept the same order as by then Full Dress was Pamphlet No.12 (see list in first attachment) I think that pamphlet No.12 had previously been No.8 by that date too. It also looks like there was a supplement to Pamphlet 12 for 'special distribution': 8 July 1964 - Pamphlet 6 looks to be Clothing Regulations: Civilian Clothing, Miscellaneous Scales - second attachment Pamphlet 7 could be: Clothing Regulations 1953: Clothing Regulations and Scales Army Emergency Reserve and Territorial Army (All Ranks) - third attachment Hoping this helps - any thoughts or clarification appreciated Mike Last edited by Mike B; 05-08-18 at 07:26 PM. |

Hi
I just found this picture with two soldiers apparently from the HCav ( https://www.visualpixel.co.uk/v/phot...eens-household ) Would you confirm me that their uniforms are under dress regulation? In other words, can they wear the peaked cap with red/blue jacket?

Whilst I can't tell you the exact name of the order of dress shown, the two shown are wearing what I believe is some form of dismounted order and the wearing of the forage cap would be correct in certain circumstances. When I was serving in the Coldstream Guards for instance we would wear full Home Service Clothing for Church Parades with the Bearskin Cap substituted for the Forage Cap.
Hopefully a Donkey Walloper will be along to give you the correct name for this order of dress. Regards Simon. |

Eric,
Nice to have some class in your collection! Is the tunic named by any chance? Simon. |
