Default Volunteer Welsh Regt?

This is one for the Welsh Regt collectors, is this a Volunteer Btn or something else?

I have replaced the loops.

Hi Rob, attached are images of the example I have.
Always believed it to be a "Volunteer"
Perhaps Kevin can confirm.
Cheers.
Len

Default Volunteer Welsh Regt?

Thanks Len, my loops are in a different position which is where I soldered them, but apart from that the same construction.

Hi Rob,
I’m afraid I’m not convinced with your example. The construction looks a little on the lumpy side if you know what I mean. Mine are shown below for comparison. They are all of a fairly light construction in nature.
At present I believe that the plain white metal examples were probably worn by the Militia battalion but have yet to get solid evidence of this. The example with the blade on the back has been converted & plated from a standard cap badge.
I do have evidence of the 1st VB badge being worn but nothing yet for the other VBs.
Hwyl,
Kevin
