On the steel helmet it was the size of the Pagri flash but worn as the sleeve. (yes they did have the steel helmet, I have images)

* The DHY wore their own cap badge in the forage cap and the RWF wore their own.
Griff.

You sure the the broken spur sign was that bright, the one I saw on WH uniform was a much deeper dark green also saw one with a back badge on it.

Its just a representation I can darken it... I have not seen the real thing yet. Same with the Officers badge.... I have just made that by using the WG leek. I am sure the real thing looks a bit different. I can only go from the description.

Griff.

Bosley had one on one of his sites a little while ago, looks black in photo but listed a dark green (wasn't Welsh but the same).

Seen one like your image in some fairs, but square and WWII.

Its on his main site and attributed to Private J. Revill of the 10th (Shropshire and Cheshire Yeomanry) Bn KSLI. <---- Commanded by DHY Lt.Col H J Howell-Evans DSO

230th Brigade, 74th (Yeomanry) Division rare WW1 formation sign Badge.
A very scarce example comprising a white broken spur embroidered onto a green felt diamond.

at a whopping £350

Yep that's the one and if it wasn't that expensive it would be in our WH collection.

I have brightened the contrast on the image and you can make out the dark green colour on the edges of the patch. It does look black initially.

I am very chuffed about finding the 24th RWFs sleeve & Pagri patch confirmation on the IWM. At least we can ID them from period photos now.
