Canadian WW1 badges
Gents, years ago I was given a small bundle of badges by a very old lady who was a friend of my then girlfriends family. They lived in the Bristol area and the attached badges were given to her by various 'soldiers' when she was a small girl during the first war.
Some are Canadian. Any info on these would be greatly received. Also amongst them I believe may be a US button. Regards all Bess |

Hello Bess,
Yes the 79th Cameron is a shoulder title to the Canadian Camerons from Winnipeg. They formed one company of the 16th Bn, and wore their regimental insignia until replaced by 16th Bn ones. The 44th badge is a collar badge for that Bn, which served in France and Flanders.

That's great, thank you Bill. These badges had not seen the light of day for almost a century.
