And fairly cheap considering, quite a bit under £100, that's the good thing about RRF, doesn't command huge prices. You get a lot of shiny stuff for your money.

So it is worth buying then?
I think I have the original book somewhere, but, I do remember being a little disappointed to note that not all the various Tyneside Scottish were shown within it, but, then most people never seem to have an absolutely complete collection anyway.
Does the book contain more badges than the original volume?

Yes Frank it does have more badges, so there has been a lot of renumbering. If you want, later I can take some pics of the TS pages so you can judge for yourself, if you PM me your email address I can then send them to you. Won't post on here due to copyright issues.
It was a hefty outlay at £95 but as RRF and NF are my main regiments I couldn't not buy it. Also have had the pleasure of chatting with Denis who is lovely and has been hugely encouraging.

£95!
Well, any really good book tends to be rather expensive these days, the specialist ones far more so, I should not be at all surprised really, how old is Denis Wood now?
Are the badges in the book all from his own collection, or has he included odd rarities from other collections?

Rarities from other collections, its a very lush book. Denis is 84 I think?

Yes its unfortunate that these books are so expensive but understandable. PM me and I'll get some pages off to you later.

LOL, thank you, but, I would think if you send me pictures of the book you would certainly still be infringing his copyright as you would by simply posting the same on here.
I might consider a copy in due course, but, I'm not a NF collector, although, I do have a slight interest in the TS, so we shall see.

No problem. For me it's completely worth it but if you only have a slight interest in Tyneside Scottish, I'm not sure it balances out.
There are rafts of books I'd like but unfortunately a lot fall into the same price range, and whilst I completely understand why they are expensive I have to look at how much use I would get from them and whether it's worth the outlay.
Books on cloth and anodised are going to be my next thing

I am glad to hear his book is so good, I remember, in particular, he did, not only, not show a Jennens made Tyneside Scottish officers badge, but, did not actually list them in his original work, which I felt was a shame given both their scarcity and superior quality too.
I suspect I will add a copy of the new book in due course, it sounds far too good to not bother with.

There are 11 pages on Tyneside Scottish, cap badges, collars, ST's, Pipers Dirk and Skean Dhu badges, related pipers badges i.e waist belt plates etc tartans, armbands and cords, battalion battle patches and a couple of unknown badges or unknown use. I don't know how that particular section compares with the original, but it's all in glorious technicolour

Sounds like I'll have to have a copy, the NF was a great old regiment, but, as mentioned, one which I have no real interest in, but, they were just so bloody good, in particular, in Korea as part of the famous 29th Infantry Brigade.
Always liked the TS though, really great battalions, you should certainly start buying more saltaires, towers and lions!
Have you got a first pattern rankers yet?
