Unusual cadet flash

Here is an usual cadet flash, patterned after the 1940's 1950's style, but modern made with plastic backing the same as the so called "iron on" style of the 1990's combat badges.

First time for me to see this pattern.

I've seen those on 1980s-1990s brassards...Not sure exactly when they were used or on what uniform, as most corps would have worn affiliated unit insignia.
