Default Is this a Pathfinders Wing ?

Any assistance appreciated with regard to this badge please. Is it a Pathfinders wing or something else ? The Eagle/Albatross is solid backed and has only ever had this pin fitting (i.e it is not a replacement for any other fittings).
Once positively identified it will be for sale.
Thank you for any help

It's essentially just an RAF eagle. A few years ago I sold a Pathfinder badge and received a rather uptight email from a representative of the Pathfinder Association saying it wasn't as the only PF badges were gilt, pinbacked and made by J R Gaunt.

The badge I had came from the airman himself and had been worn on his uniform. I think I wrote a long piece about this somewhere on here a couple of years ago, but in a nutshell, although there were issue badges airmen frequently used different types - side cap badges sans crown for example or eagles taken from an officers cap badge which had bend over wires - keeping the issue badge for a loved one or souvenir. Likewise, sweetheart broaches come in the same form, brass or gilt and with pin back. In more recent years many eagles have been taken from the post war Master Aircrew badge and been passed off as a pathfinder.

So in reality, whatever the fixing, finish or origin of the badge, you can only be certain it's a true Pathfinder if it has provenance as such.

I meant to add that, as yours faces the wrong way (to the left rather than right) it's not a Pathfinder badge. If it was lugged I'd say it was from the Master Aircrew badge (which had facing eagles) but as it has a pin I'd suggest a sweetheart badge.
