The sealed pattern card details appears to be online at the IWM site.
http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30074357. The pattern was sealed on 24 Aug. 1964 apparently. John |

Gentleman,
Is there any other evidence to say if it was actually worn by the 1st Battalion? |

Good one to have David, the original one I had was a Grove, the one I have now is Smith+Wright. I believe that they were the only two makers of this badge.

Member Ron0848 was a member of the Manchesters prior to amalgamation and then served with The Kings Regiment. I am sure he will know the answer.
Ron if you see this, what is the answer, did the regulars in the Manchesters wear the anodised fleur de lys ? Peter

Gentlemen,
Thank you very much for all the posts, I'm now thinking that perhaps it was never worn by the 1st Battalion, so until it is proven otherwise, I think that I will save my money and not bother to buy one! And a big thank you to Chris Marsh for the email on this matter. |
