1970 restrike for certain. There is one well known dealer who may try and persuade you that the England sliders are WW2 NAAFI badges. Not in my opinion as there are 1970s articles that mention that they are new copies..

I will pass the information on! For me the dead give away was the metal type it’s not the same as any other badge I have ever seen!

The dies were probably original ones but as you say the metal type does not match and the sliders are unique to the fakes.

Could be a ‘Morrison’. A retired RAOC Major J A Morrison acquired some manufacturer’s dies and produced ‘restruck’ cap badges in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Many badges had tapered sliders, some possibly marked at the time or subsequently ‘ENGLAND’. He was based at Thurnby in Leicestershire and if memory serves, advertised in Soldier magazine.
