Default Your Thoughts Please

Gentlemen, I am pretty sure the Artist Rifles badges are bad after reading through the recent threads, but maybe I'll get lucky.

I don't know about the Post Office Rifles or the Royal Ulster Rifles.

I got these badges about 20 years ago, and am not planning on selling them, but would like to know for sure.

Also first time I've ever seen numbers like this on a slider so have no idea what they are?

Thank you,

Terry

Terry IMO the Post Office and RUR are OK.

The numbers presumably relate to the soldiers service number or partial number applied to show ownership should it be "lost" although there appears to be a "T" in amongst the digits.
Could be substituted to replace a lost '1' or '7" but if you give a squaddie a hammer and bits of metal you gets what you gets.
Recently there have been a number of dubious badges turning up on ebay (of all places, would you believe it?) with numbers applied to sliders as an indication of "authenticity".

The Artists on the far right might stand a chance, but the reverse needs to be seen of course.

CB, Here's a picture of the reverse of the badge that was on he far right. Of the three I will be happy if one is good.

Thanks!

While I am not particularly familiar with this badge (among the worst designs in the panoply of British badges in my opinion ), the slider does not look very good.
I am sure others can confirm however.

Thanks CB. What concerned me was the eyes, and of course the nose on the middle one. I can see it being a artsy design, and does seem to lack an Empire look.
