NNSH with the abbreviated HIGH'RS

Upon losing the [M.G.] designation in 41, does anyone know how long the badge with the abbreviated form of HIGH'RS was used prior to the introduction of the badge with HIGHLANDERS spelled out fully?

Not sure if this helps you at all but according to Daniel Mazeas, abbreviated HIGH'RS (MG) version was authorized in General Order 173/1939. He does not list the HIGHLANDERS version as a General Order but has the year 1941. I hope this is of some use to you.

A note on the approval and the production of badges. There may have been considerable time elapse between the two. In archive documents, new badges are approved for many regiments, but contracts to make the badges are months or longer later. Additionally, the new badges had to make their way to the unit stores, which during wartime was frequently several months. And, soldiers may not have taken down the old pattern badge and continued to wear their original issue.
