WW2 Cdn highland cap badge measurements?
I am wondering if somebody can help me with a few measurements.
I know that there is quite a bit of variation between badges, but I am wondering if somebody can tell me the distance between lugs on a typical WW2 era badge for the following regiments: Cape Breton Highlanders 48th Highlanders I have a wartime dated Tam O'Shanter and am looking for a suitable badge that might fit the existing holes. The lug holes on my TOS are almost exactly 2 inches (51 mm) apart. Thanks for your help. |

Don't think you're looking at either a Cape Breton Highlanders or 48th Highlanders badge. Lug spacing on my Cape Breton is only about 41mm. Spacing on the 48th is maybe 45mm at the most. My guess is a North Nova Scotia Highlanders or a Lorne Scots (Peel & Dufferin), which will both be about 2" apart.

Glengarry badge measurements...
Hi again.
I just recently picked up a nice WW2 glengarry cap. It is dark blue with the scarlet/white/green dicing (looks like red/white/black). When I purchased it, it was wearing an incorrect Toronto Scottish badge. I would like to replace the Toronto Scottish badge with one that would be correct for this particular style of glengarry. According to "Dressed to Kill", this style of glengarry was worn by the following regiments:
I have no way of really knowing which badge originally came on the cap. Ideally, I would like to display it with a Canadian Scottish badge. However, I do not know the measurement of the distance between the lugs on a typical Canadian Scottish badge. The lug holes on my cap are 41-42 mm apart. Can anyone with a Canadian Scottish badge tell me the measurements between lugs? Might one of these fit on this cap, or should I be looking at a different regiment? Thanks for your time. PS - None of my 2 lug Seaforth badges fit. |

Thanks Bill! Sounds like a Canadian Scottish badge will fit just fine.
