Default Fife and Forfar Yeo. arm badges

I note that this regiment apparently had two different NCO arm badges; one very similar to the cap badge and one in a circlet surmounted by the crown.
When and how were these variants worn? I can't seem to find a photo of them in wear on SD or BD. Thanks,

CB

This is the version I have in my collection. (top left hand side). Note there is NO SWORD on this version.
The version above looks like a standard cap badge to me.

Have seen a few on dealer sites etc. that are described as "NCO's arm badge with 2 loops to reverse" but remembered there was a post on GMIC that said it was Fife Constabulary.

I agree. I believe these to be police badges often mis-sold by dealers as F&FY arm badges.

The larger badge of similar design is also another can of worms. Often attributed as a F&FY HP centres, however, I’ve seen a very similar/identical design worn on Fife Constabulary custodian helmets.
