Wm. Dowler & Sons Ltd.
Wm Dowler and Sons is noted for their service whistles, but they also made badges. Does anyone know the badges they made? And did they use a distinctive maker mark?

Cap and one collar marked Dowler Birmingham. 1 collar marked Wm. Dowler & Sons Ltd Birmingham. Interestingly the cap badge is marked twice.

They were also the makers of thousands of those date bars that were suspended from St John Ambulance members' badges. The earlier ones being silver.
The firm entered at least three marks (W.D&S and WD&S) with the Birmingham Assay Office. Trev. |

I have anodised examples with
WM Dowler Bham Dowler Birmingham On the slides. But my Light Infantry HM silver belt plate was one of theirs too. I shall check the date and which silver mark was used. The other 2 LI belt plates are theirs too judging by the crowns and screwpost positions. |
