Badges relating to my Great Grandfather, framed, 3DG
Hello,
I posted a couple of months ago my Yorkshire Dragoons badges to do with my Great Grandfather, before he joined them as a PSI, he was in the 3rd Dragoon guards. On yellow facing colour. 3DG three piece title, worn during the Boer War, Victorian cap badge, 3 lugs, collar Badges, 3DG S/NCO arm badge, brass buttons, 3DG title, Edwardian cap badge, on slider, different strike to the Victorian badge. I'm really pleased with it. Chris |

Fab display.
My Grandfather was a Farrier in 3rd Dragoon Guards, just missed WW1, enlisted in The Essex Regiment 1918, war finished, re-enlisted a year or so later and went to India in 1920. Regards. Brian |

Greetings Chris.
Best I can discover is he enlisted into 8th Battalion, Essex Regiment as an 18 year old on 24.4.18, transferred to Army Reserve 12.12.19, later joined 3rd Dragoon Guards, date unknown and left The UK 17.1.21, arriving at Sialkot on 5.2.21. He was in B Squadron and I believe based at Edward Barracks, Sialkot. You never now, they may well have served together. Regards. Brian |
