REME Bugler
Interesting pic of a REME bugler wearing a caubeen, while attached to 152 (North Irish) RLC. The cap badge is a REME blazer badge.

152 (North Irish) Regiment RLC (Reserve) has a Pipes & Drums where the pipers wear a saffron kilt and drummers & buglers No1 Dress Trousers. All wear the Large Bullion Badge with hackle on a Dark Blue Caubeen (The Liverpool Irish (who are RA) wear a Green Caubeen)
The REME bugler I take it is attached to the Regiments LAD 154 (Scottish) Regiment RLC (Reserve) also has a Pipes and Drums which wear the Red MacDuff Tartan as do the 10 Gurkha Logistic Regiments pipers. |

Great photo, does anyone know if the large wire badge mentioned in Mikes description of 152 RLC is a blazer badge too or is it specially produced?

There are officially no TA LAD's any more.
All personal are attached to regional REME Battalions and personal are allocated to units as and when necessary. |

Blazer Badge
The 152 (NI) RLC badges are blazer badges. The early badges are on a green backing, when a green caubeen was worn . A dark blue caubeen had been worn before this replaced by the green in the mid 1980s when still RCT. The current caubeen is dark blue, adopted c2008. And the badge has a dark blue/black backing.

Indeed so, I have 2 of the Hackles and need a Green backed RLC badge for my collection.
Were the Liverpool Irish Hackles always used? |

Hackle
Think the blue over red hackle was adopted on formation of the RLC. A green hackle was worn before this by RCT.

152 Ulster Regiment did indeed wear a green hackle over a standard RCT Cap Badge on a green caubeen of the style of the RIR and was worm or so I am told by 152 Regt RLC Pipe Band till c1995 or later? again over a standard cap badge.

Hackle
Was told by an ex band member. That they were instructed to change to the blue/red hackle. By the Army Dress Committee on formation of the RLC.

Hello irishhorse and all,
Here are a few images of mine of the "old" 152 (Ulster) Tpt Regt RLC (V) taken back in 2014 @ the RLC Open Day. (Mike_2817 was there as well) The last image is a close up of the Blue Caubeens & Badges, both RLC & REME. Enjoy Ken (The Fatboy) Images below, not in any particular order; 3 Points to note, This was the very last time that they preformed as; 1. 152 (Ulster) Transport Regiment RLC (V) as the next week they reformed into; 2. 152 (North Irish) Regiment RLC (RESERVE) 3.
