Default Ordnance Corps Badge

Hi,

Is this Ordnance Corps Badge a hat badge or collar? The size is 32mm x 24mm (cross the middle) and but I think I recall seeing a larger version as a cap badge.

Thanks

Andrew

Andrew,
it's a OSD cap badge, I believe to the Army Ordnance Department (not corps), pre dating 1918?

Andy,
I believe the AOD (Officers) did not become part of the AOC until 1918?

I could be wrong?

The AOD (Officers) & AOC (Other Ranks) merged to become the RAOC (All Ranks) in November 1918.

As far as I know from an old and long gone AOD/AOC/RAOC collector the AOD was made up of officer's only so it wouldn't surprise me if they were still about during the war.
