RCD ebay auction ended - HUGE $$ Why?
HI guys, I'm sure we all watched the recent auction of RCD stuff on ebay. There was a bullion badge on red, a blazer patch (I think) and some div patches. For me the prize was the bullion Officers badge, the rest I don't know. Did anyone in this forum win this auction? What was the crown jewel of the lot?

Hey Greg, Remember what was in the lot. The bullion wire badge had provenance to a WW2 RCD officer, and there were 5 canvas formation patches RCD 1st Corps. Finally there were officer's collar badges. The combination of items plus two determined bidders were likely what drove the bidding.

I agree with Bill. Being a member of the RCD and long time collector of RCD stuff, I was watching this one. I was more interested in the small bullion w/maroon backing crest and the named silver item, as I have enough of the others. For a very brief period I was the high bidder, and then all of a sudden bang ambushed!!!, and the price went way out of my ballpark. I am sure the winner must be happy.
